The Mapmaker
Are you a tryer? A do-er? A Dreamer that can’t only dream?
Are you a reacher, a grasper, a what-if believer?
Then give it a shot, never stop, never settle.
Never give up, never sit down, never just stand there.
Keep walking forward, trying doors, exploring roads.
You’re a mapmaker, determined to go out into the world and find the path, not just follow the one already discovered.
But it’s hard. There are no signs, no guides, no rest stops.
Is it much further doesn’t apply. Dreams are endless roads.
Sometimes you won’t be understood, and sometimes it will take all of you to understand yourself.
Clarification inside and out can be tiring.
But you’ll keep going, because you’re a mapmaker.
You cut your way through the unknown jungle because something inside drives you.
Your curiosity bubbles like a kettle on a fire that won’t go out.
No matter how much you ignore it, you can’t.
You must keep going.
So to the mapmakers, the dreamers, the do-ers, strive on. Search for focus and feed your curiosity. Explore new ideas and create new combinations. At times it may feel lonely out there, but know that there are others like you, pushing, trying, making something new. It is art, it is innovation. Don’t worry because no one has done it before. There are no trends out in front. New must have a start somewhere, why not with you? You will fail at times, this is for sure, but it is part of the job. Mapmakers keep going, creating a path others will follow.
Go on. Dream. Do. And as you take a break and lay down to rest, looking up at the stars from your newly cut trail, know that you are not alone. There are others out there like you, creating their journey at the same time.
You are all mapmakers, and you will create the roads we will all follow.
